Gaming Company Buys Online Casino Poker Developer
4 Jan 2007
A new comer into the online casino industry, a Costa Rica-based firm that deals with multiplayer gaming software development, has recently bought a well respected poker software provider that is located in Gibraltar. No previous information regarding the sale was available, and the online casino industry was taken by surprise by the sudden purchase. With the introduction of online casino legislation in the United States, many people believed that it will take time for outside-the-industry firms to show interest in the gambling world, but apparently that is not the case.
According to Digital Gaming Network, the company that acquired the online casino poker software provider, there will be no immediate layoff, and the company will keep going in with no apparent change. The online casino software provider will meet its former targets, the new owner said, and for now there are is no change to interfere with in-company decisions. DGN also said that they bought the online casino software provider, as they are looking to enter the gambling industry, and doing so with through a company that already works with many of the elements in the business is ideal.
It seems that the new UIGEA does not turn off potential investors, and as the industry expands to foreign online casino markets, there are many companies that understand that the online casino gambling industry still holds a very high potential for generating revenues. The online casino firm that was bought had been working in the industry since 2000 and was involved in the development of the first multi-player platforms that appeared at online gambling sites.
