British online casino sites profit from US ban
25 Jan 2007
It is well known that some of the major American online casino sites are being linked to the British branches – in order to keep the wagers coming in. But it is no secret that although the American online casino industry is doing very well considering the obstacles, they have suffered quite a shock, and the gamers mostly seek online casino sites based in the UK. This week, after a long discussion in the UK, which was certainly viewed by the US government, the American online casino industry will be taking another beating by the US Senate – as a new rule will be spoken of – the rule of blocking all US users from gambling in and out of the US!
The first reason for this is the fact that the UK enables all kinds of online gambling. You can play in whichever game you want to at an online casino in London. And you have many major online casino sites providing you many versions of the games. This is something you can no longer do in an American online casino facility. You can at best be linked to a British site. There are other reasons but the US government does not want its money spent in casinos abroad. It wants no money spent at casinos at all.
This rule has received quite some criticism well before it was even spoken of being added to the law. This is somewhat un-democratic. Online gambling not being held in the US is something the country should have an opinion of. But getting into someone’s house and telling them not to wager outside the country at online casino facilities?
